New Forest Green Stadium Refused Planning Permission

Forest Greens Plans to build the 'Worlds greenest football stadium' lie in tatters today as Stroud Councillors refused planning permission for the project. The stadium which was proposed to be built near Junction 13 of the M5, eight miles away from the site of the New Lawn Ground was to be constructed entirely of wood. However, the majority of councillors voted against the proposals at a meeting last night, on the basis of the impact on the landscape, plus noise and traffic issues. It will be interesting to see where the Club appeals against the decision or looks elsewhere for an alternative site. Certainly due to accessibility issues the present New Lawn Ground, can't easily cope with any further growth in attendances.
