|What's Riveracre Park Like?|
|One of the smaller grounds
in the league with fairly basic facilities. Both
ends do not have terracing as such, but have flat
hard standing areas (although the end does have one
step). Both these areas are open to the elements. On
one side is a very small covered seated stand, which
has a number of supporting pillars running across
the front of it. Opposite is a small covered terrace
that also sits astride the half way line. Again this
stand has a number of supporting pillars. Either
sides of these stands are not really used for
spectators apart from a path running along the
perimeter fence. Behind the Main Stand is a complex
of all weather pitches, whilst one end (towards the
Social Club) contains the Club dressing rooms.
The Club was originally formed as the works team of the Vauxhall Car Plant in Ellesmere Port, but is now established as its own club.

a large social club at the ground. Otherwise there
is the Astra Pub which is located adjacent to the
club entrance. There is also the Chimneys pub
which is around three quarters of a mile away from
the stadium (see driving directions below).
|How To Get There And Where To Park|
the M6 at Junction 20a and take the M56 towards North
Wales. Leave the M56 at Junction 15 and take the M53
towards Ellemere Port & Birkenhead. Leave the M53
at Junction 5 and take the first exit onto the A41
towards Chester. At the first set of traffic lights
turn left at the Chimneys Pub. Continue to the bottom
of this road until you reach a T junction where you
turn left. At the next T junction turn right and the
entrance to the ground is down on the right just past
the Astra Bar. There is a good sized car park at the
Map showing the location of Riveracre Park (at the bottom of this page).
Hooton station is situated a mile and
half away from the ground. It is served by trains
from Chester and Liverpool Lime Street. Although you
could walk from the station to the ground (albeit a
fairly long one taking 30-35 minutes), a fair part
of the route is down country lanes where there is no
pedestrian footpath, so I would advise taking a taxi
Remember if travelling by train then you can normally save on the cost of fares by booking in advance. Visit the thetrainline website to see how much you can save.
