Never been to
White Hart Lane before so went to this one with my brother in law who
lives fairly locally (Hertfordshire). Went by train and arrived at
Northumberland Park station (main line station on the London Liverpool
Street line), only an 8-10 minute stroll away from the ground. Went to the
chippy/kebab shop on Park Road just by the station. Food pretty
good. Drank at the
Elmhust on Lordship Lane. Only a ten minute walk from the ground. A pretty
large mock tudor type pub with 4 or 5 Sky Sports
screens. There were home fans and away fans in colours mixing
with out any problems. Prices were ok (for London). Ground was as
expected after seeing on tv. Atmosphere before the game was
excellent. There was some pretty rowdy behaviour by a bunch of twenty
something Wolves fans in the concourse area with bouncing and beer
tossing going on without any intervention by the stewards, with I thought
was a good touch, as they they weren't really doing any harm.
During the game
the noise generated by the Wolves fans was immense with the Spurs fans not
heard until at least 20 minutes in to the match. And even then not
very loudly until the second half on a couple of occasions. Although it
did help that we scored in the 3rd minute! We hang on to record a
monumental 1 nil victory, and the fans went mental. Getting back to
the station was easy, and with no animosity from the Spurs fans.
An overall
excellent day and enjoyable away fan experience.
