The above statue is not situated outside the stadium itself, but a few minutes walk away at the corner of Barrack Road and St James' Boulevard.

Jackie Milburn is Newcastle's all time leading goal scorer with 238 goals in 492 appearances. He played for the Club between 1943 & 1957.

There is also another statue of Jackie in his home town of Ashington in Northumberland.

The inscription on the plinth reads:

1924-1988
