1. Why you were looking forward to going to the ground (or not as the case may be):
I was looking forward to going to Stadium:mk because the match was first vs second in the league and it was my second away match I have been to. I read reviews and looked at pictures of the stadium and it looked good, as it's new and deserved a visit.
2. How easy was your journey/finding the ground/car parking?
The journey was easy, as Leicester is not far from Milton Keynes. We left the Walkers Stadium at twelve and were at Milton Keynes after just over an hour. The ground seemed to be routed on the outskirts of Milton Keynes and we had to drive through the town centre but it was easy finding it in the end. Parking was very good as the coaches were allowed to park right outside the away turnstiles so it was easy finding your coach after the game.
3. What you did before the game pub/chippy.... home fans friendly?
I decided not to go to the local pub but we did pass one going to the ground and it seemed about a 10 minute walk. There were some chip shops and fast food bars outside the stadium but I opted for food inside the stadium. They were very good quality but you expect food to be good for prices of £2.50 to £4.00. We didn't cross any home fans but staff seemed friendly and the police outside the stadium seemed not to hasty. The programme seller and the stewards were friendly to me coming inside and outside the stadium.
4. What you thought on seeing the ground, first impressions of away end then other sides of the ground?
Outside it looked really good, but of course it's not quite fully finished yet, but when it is it will be one of the best stadiums in the football league in my eyes. Inside the ground the away end was excellent quality and the other end's looked the same. Mk Dons have padded seats which were really comfy but it was hard trying to find your seat number as it is attached to the bottom of your seat which seemed to annoy our travelling Leicester fans. But overall the stadium is really up to standards and is one of the better stadiums in League 1.
5. Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, toilets etc..
The atmosphere between home fans and us Leicester fans was excellent. We often bring a decent crowd and we did on this occassion as over 4,000 Leicester fans travelled to Stadium: Mk. The stewards were friendly and the toilets had plenty of room to move around in.
The game itself was a nail biter for us Leicester fans. Leicester took the lead just five minutes into the game when Matty Fryatt scored another goal for us bringing his tally to 27. They scored two goals one which was from 25 yards which our keeper Mark Bunn should have saved but Leven made it 1-1. They scored again just a couple of minutes into the second half, Leven again scored the goal but there were mistakes from Leicester defenders which gifted him the goal. The last minute saw a wonderful free-kick from Max Gradel which saw us Leicester fans go into raptures. The game finished 2-2 and it was a wonderful ending to a day out.
6. Comment on getting away from the ground after the game:
There is not much to say. It was easy getting away from the ground we went through Milton Keynes and in an hours time we were back in Leicester.
7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out:
It was a wonderful day out, it was a cracking game between first and second and Max Gradel was the hero for Leicester. Stadium: Mk is a wonderful stadium with excellent facilities. The padded seats were really comfy and I would recommend that Stadium:Mk is a brilliant new stadium and would say to any fan to pop down to the ground to see your away team play and I would like to go again because it was an excellent day, game and stadium.
Are you an away or general football fan who has
visited stadium:mk recently?
If so why not submit your own review of the ground and general day out?
