1.Why you were looking forward to going to the ground (or not as the case may be):
Was greatly looking forward to visiting the ground, although a little scared due to the reputation. Looked a great ground though so I wanted to visit, but thought it better to travel on the official coach.
2. How easy was your journey/finding the ground/car parking:
Well the journey was easy for us as we went on the official coach. The ground is near central London so the trains looked a good option, with designated train stations for the away fans after the game. We were stopped around a 10 minutes away from the ground, where we were given a huge police escort into the ground, with police vans and bikes virtually surrounding the whole convoy of buses.
3. What you did before the game pub/chippy.... home fans friendly?
The coach pulled up in the compound at the back of the away stand. There is a fenced off area so that no home fans can reach you. The coach only arrived at around 2.15 so we went straight into the ground. With reference to the home fans, we didn't see many on the way in but the odd couple that we did see were hurling verbal abuse at the buses.
4. What you thought on seeing the ground, first impressions of away end then other sides of the ground?
I thought the away end was amongst the best in our division. From the outside, the ground is pretty dull to look at, with all the stands being the same. The away end seemed pretty odd, with the lower tier and upper tier all sharing the same concourse, with just different entrances when inside the stand. Another odd factor of the away end was that the fans are not searched outside the ground, but inside, when they have passed through the turnstiles.
5. Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, toilets etc..
What an amazing game. We lost our keeper to injury after just 40 minutes, and did not have one on the bench. We had to play the whole second half with Lee Bullen, our central defender, in goal! To make the game even more amazing, our winner came from a disallowed goal for Millwall, while most of their team were off the field celebrating! he atmosphere in the ground was a little intimidating, however the atmosphere from the away end was great as usual. The stewards were pretty un-noticeable, with the Millwall fans throwing objects at the referee and the Stewards just letting them. Didn't sample the pies in the ground, but the chips they sell are awful, and more expensive than the chips at Hillsborough!
6. Comment on getting away from the ground after the game:
Was very worried when leaving the ground, as I heard stories about buses gettin bricks thrown at them. However, we were held in the 'compound' for 15 minutes after the game, and when we left we had a great police escort and there were police officers lining the road. There were virtually no home fans on the streets so it was very safe. We were back on the motorway and well on our way home within an hour.
7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out:
What a great day out, the ground was great, the journey was okay and we won!
