1. Why you were looking forward
to going to the ground (or not as the case may be):
I was looking
forward to going to the game as following the Villa away can be a laugh
and a rolller coaster of emotions, I was looking forward to this one
though because I haven't been the Man City away and had heard good things
about the ground and I always enjoy my trips to Manchester when following
Villa and England.
2. How easy was your journey/finding the
ground/car parking:
We caught the National Express from Digbeth
Coach Station, only a tenner return so we could go central Manchester for
some drinking before the game, finding the ground was easy as we just got
a taxi when we left the pub.
3. What you did before the game
pub/chippy.... home fans friendly?
Before the game there loads of
us in the city centre drinking at the two pubs in Exchange Square Oyster
bar and Old Wellington inn i think they are called where the atmosphere
from our fans was pretty good especially with the warm weather too, I
didn't notice too many places to eat or drink around the ground probably
with it being a new ground and all.
4. What you thought on seeing
the ground, first impressions of away end then other sides of the
ground?
I was pretty impressed with ground when I first saw it
compared with other new stadiums it is a lot better and different to say,
Derby, Leicester etc. Inside was pretty standard but spacious which was
good as there was a lot of villa fans in there also when I sat down at
half time there was a fair bit of leg room.
5. Comment on the game
itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, toilets etc..
The game itself
was pretty good especially as we won 2-0 in the end and they missed a
penalty, there was quite a lot of banter between the two sets of fans, I
was right next to the divide which wasn't very big 3 rows of seats, the
stewarding was fine no trouble from them i only ever seen em just stand
there, I didn't try any of the food on sale in there too packed and
probably too expensive nor did I go in the toilets I didn't want to leave
the game the atmosphere was pretty good from our end but overall I thought
the City fans were pretty quiet maybe because it was an end of season game
I don't know.
6. Comment on getting away from the ground after the
game:
After the game we walked back to the city centre as the roads
were rammed and so were the buses and I couldn't see any taxis but
walking only took 20 minutes and we just followed the crowds and
experienced no trouble.
7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day
out:
Overall I enjoyed the day out, we won 2-0 the weather was good
and the atmosphere was terrific, I'd definitely go back again it was a
nice ground to go and has the city centre down the road to pass the day
away. |
