1. Why you were looking
forward to going to the ground (or not as the case may be)
Its a brand new Stadium or should I say Arena.
Looking forward to hopefully kick-start our season with a win away from home
at lowly Coventry. Another reason I was looking
forward to this one was the fact we would not be playing in our away kit! So
far every game we have played in the green monster we have failed to win!
2. How easy was your journey/finding the ground/car parking
Left Carrow Road at 09:30 but because we live in Beccles
we had to leave at 08:00! Like every other away trip from Norwich its down
the A47 and the same old scenery all the way there. The ground can be
spotted on the motorway just before you reach
Coventry on the left, There is plenty of parking around the ground for away
supporters.
3. What you did before the game pub/chippy.... home fans friendly?
Didn't Speak to any Coventry fans... Arrived about an hour and a half before
kick off so went and had a look in the club shop which was fairly big and
easy to get around. Then we went for a mini tour around
the outside of the stadium and to be honest it wasn't that
impressive. It was basically a massive exhibition centre
and then a compact ground stuck onto the side of
it!
4. What you thought on seeing the ground, first impressions of away end then
other sides of the ground.
Inside was nice! It was exactly what you would expect from a new ground...
Plenty of places to buy food, reasonably priced. The stadium inside is
pretty plain. 3 stands are identical and then you have the main stand which
has lost a good few thousand seats because of a white wall they have put up!
This is also the only stand to be 2 tiered.
5. Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, toilets etc..
Started off awfully... 2 goals down after 10 minutes thanks to Adebola and
McSheffery! Got back into the game towards the end and managed to grab a 2-2
draw although we were robbed by a poor referring decision! There was only
20,000 there so the atmosphere from the home fans was poor however we made
as much noise as we could as per usual and shocked a
lot of the home fans. Didn't use the toilets so can't comment on that
but I did get a hug off
Delia Smith! She was a row behind us and was stuck with us trying to get
out! Had a good old chat about team tactics etc!
6. Comment on getting away from the ground after the game
Easy In, Easy Out. We were on the motorway within
15mins of getting out the ground and arrived back at Norwich about 8:15
7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out.
Not bad, could have been better. Expected more from a new ground with a team
which I thought had fairly good supporters, well
the ones that turned up anyway! |
