1. Why you were looking
forward to going to the ground (or not as the
case may be):
I knew the ground was
old but I was still looking forward to going
to a passionate derby game.
2. How easy was your journey/finding the
ground/car parking?
I travelled by train and this was one of my
easiest grounds to find as the floodlights
stand out for miles
3. What you did before the game pub/chippy....
home fans friendly?
I went into the Radfords Legends bar before
the game which gives a good view of the pitch
and the Hereford fans were very friendly and
the drinks were fairly priced..
4. What you thought on seeing the ground,
first impressions of away end then other sides
of the ground?
My first impressions were that I had taken a
wrong turning as it doesn’t look like a
football ground from the outside. It looks
more like a community centre. The main office
is set back down a narrow footpath and the
club shop has so little stock in it must have
been having a closing down sale. The car park
was so uneven you had to watch the road as if
you looked up you were likely to trip up over
a pothole.. The ground desperately needs
urgent repairs to the terracing behind both
goals.
5. Comment on the game itself, atmosphere,
stewards, pies, toilets etc..
Cheltenham were the much better side in a 1-1
draw and should have won. The food was vastly
overpriced at £3.50 (??) for a pie is
excessive. The toilets were small and when
opening the door there is so little room that
you crush the person behind it.
6. Comment on getting away from the ground
after the game:
I remembered the way that I had come so it was
a doddle on foot back to the station.
7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out:
An enjoyable day at a very friendly club. Its
just a shame that the ground is falling apart
and hasn’t been improved since the 1960’s.
