1. Why you were
looking forward to going to the ground (or not as the case may be):
Very looking forward to it as it completed the 92 for me
(again).
2. How easy was your journey/finding the ground/car
parking?
For saying it was a new ground, there were no signs for
it until about a mile away. Good safe away parking.
3. What you did
before the game pub/chippy.... home fans friendly?
I was working
40 miles away, so had a relatively short journey compared to the rest of
the Derby fans, but had to go straight to the ground and meet mates due to
lack of time.
4. What you thought on seeing the ground, first
impressions of away end then other sides of the ground?
Had no
idea it was so close to Ninian Park (a roads width away). I suppose it
depends on what you like from football. Gone were the terraces and
atmosphere, replaced by a gleaming new all seater stadia, but it didn't
look finished
5. Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards,
pies, toilets etc..
We got hammered which didn’t help! Everything
was fine except the stewarding. We had a small following and yet everyone
was made to sit, including those on the back row. Next to us were 400
Cardiff who stood all game. When I asked a steward if there were different
rules for home fans, he said ‘yes’!
6. Comment on getting away from
the ground after the game:
Left early due to the appalling
performance and was allowed to go straight away, but was told they hold
everybody in the car park after the match if it is a 'policed'
game.
7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out:
Good
night spoilt by football (how many times have I said that over the
years). |
