1. Why
you were looking forward to going to the ground (or not as the case
may be):
I was
looking forward to the game as it was a big 'must-see' game
important to our promotion chances.
2. How easy was your journey/finding the
ground/car parking?
The journey from
London to
Bristol
was a good one with limited
traffic jams. Car parking is limited and you should leave around
5-10 minutes walk to the ground. Finding the ground was tricky
as there is only one main entrance to the ground which is used by
both
Bristol
Rovers fans and visiting
fans.
3. What you did
before the game pub/chippy.... home fans
friendly?
We just
went straight from the car to the grounds through the terribly
complicated streets. The home fans seemed pretty friendly but
never really got a chance to mix.
4. What you thought on seeing the ground,
first impressions of away end then other sides of the
ground?
The
ground is not the most attractive in League 1. The away stand
was a terrace split into two in the Uplands stand and about 100
seats in a temporary stand. The Uplands stand is terracing
along the lower tier with seats in the upper tier. The
opposite stand was a very new stand but still it had terracing along
the bottom, then hospitality boxes then some seats at the top.
The Bass Terrace is a very packed terrace from where all the
noise comes from.
5.
Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, toilets
etc..
The game
was a poor one from a Millwall fan's point of view losing 4-2 and
being 4-1 down with 10 men at half time. The atmosphere was
okay with Millwall producing all the noise and
Bristol
Rovers
remaining pretty silent. The stewards where quite helpful and
informative but there a very little stewards and more riot police
present - or was that just us being Millwall!?!
6. Comment on getting away from the ground
after the game:
It was an
easy getaway with not many fans and an easy journey home from
Bristol.
7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day
out:
Apart
from the result it was an enjoyable day out with Millwall outsinging
the Gas from start to finish - if only we had
won...
Bristol Rovers 4
- 2 Millwall
