Nat Lofthouse Statue

This bronze statue was unveiled in August 2013. Designed by Sean Hedges Quinn (who also has sculptured a number of other footballing statues including Bob Stokoe at Sunderland and Sir Alf Ramsey at Ipswich) it cost 100,000 to produce. It was funded by donations from sponsors and supporters.

Nat Lofthouse was born in Bolton and played his whole career at his hometown club. He made his debut in 1939 and retired in 1960. During this time he made 
503 appearances scoring 285 goals and was capped 33 times by England, scoring 30 goals for his country. 
He won an FA Cup winners medal in 1958.
